أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: عَشْرُ خِصَالٍ مَنْ لَقِیَ اللَّهَ بِهِنَّ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّهَ شَهَادَهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَ الْإِقْرَارُ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَ إِقَامُ الصَّلَاهِ وَ إِیتَاءُ الزَّکَاهِ وَ صَوْمُ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ حِجُّ الْبَیْتِ وَ الْوَلَایَهُ لِأَوْلِیَاءِ اللَّهِ وَ الْبَرَاءَهُ مِنْ أَعْدَاءِ اللَّهِ وَ اجْتِنَابُ کُلِّ مُسْکِرٍ.
Abi Ja’far (a.s.) said: “There are ten such virtues that one who meets God possessing them will go to Paradise. (They are) bearing witness that there is no God except Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, having faith in what Muhammad brought from Allah, establishing prayers, payment of Zakat, fasting in the month of Ramadan, Hajj of the House of Allah, faith and love of the friends of Allah, condemning the enemies of God and abstinence from all intoxicants.”

وَبِهَذَا الاسْنَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ ابي جعفر قَالَ مَنْ عَلَّمَ بَابَ هُدًى فَلَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ وَلا يُنْقَصُ أُولَئِكَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئاً وَمَنْ عَلَّمَ بَابَ ضَلالٍ كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ أَوْزَارِ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِهِ وَلا يُنْقَصُ أُولَئِكَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْئاً.
from abu Ja’far (a.s) who has said the following. “Whoever teaches a subject of guidance he will receive a reward equal to the rewards of those who would practice such guidance without any reduction in the rewards of the later ones. Whoever would introduce a subject of misguidance he will suffer equal to the suffering due for each time it is practiced without any reduction in the suffering of whoever would practice such misguidance.”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ ابي جعفر قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِي يُعَلِّمُ الْعِلْمَ مِنْكُمْ لَهُ أَجْرٌ مِثْلُ أَجْرِ الْمُتَعَلِّمِ وَلَهُ الْفَضْلُ عَلَيْهِ فَتَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ مِنْ حَمَلَةِ الْعِلْمِ وَعَلِّمُوهُ إِخْوَانَكُمْ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُمُوهُ الْعُلَمَاءُ.
from Abu Ja'far (Imam Muhammad al-Baqir) (a.s), who said: "Indeed, the one among you who teaches knowledge will have a reward equal to the reward of the one who learns it, and he has superiority over him. So, seek knowledge from the carriers of knowledge and teach it to your brothers as the scholars have taught it to you"

عَنْ ابي جعفر (a.s) قَالَ مَا عَلِمْتُمْ فَقُولُوا وَمَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا فَقُولُوا الله أَعْلَمُ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَنْتَزِعُ الايَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ يَخِرُّ فِيهَا أَبْعَدَ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالارْضِ.
from abu Ja’far (a.s) who has said the following. “What you know you may speak it up but what you do not know say, ‘Allah knows best’. A man refers to a verse in the holy Quran and gives it a meaning that is farther from the truth than the heavens are from earth.”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ ابي جعفر (a.s) قَالَ عَالِمٌ يُنْتَفَعُ بِعِلْمِهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ عَابِدٍ.
Abu Ja‘far (a.s) said: "A scholar whose knowledge benefits others is better than seventy thousand worshippers.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا مِنْهُمْ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ ابي جعفر (a.s) قَالَ لَمَّا خَلَقَ الله الْعَقْلَ اسْتَنْطَقَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ أَقْبِلْ فَأَقْبَلَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ أَدْبِرْ فَأَدْبَرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَعِزَّتِي وَجَلالِي مَا خَلَقْتُ خَلْقاً هُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْكَ وَلا أَكْمَلْتُكَ إِلا فِيمَنْ أُحِبُّ أَمَا إِنِّي إِيَّاكَ آمُرُ وَإِيَّاكَ أَنْهَى وَإِيَّاكَ أُعَاقِبُ وَإِيَّاكَ أُثِيبُ.
Abu Ja’far (al-Baqir) (a.s) has said: “When Allah (swt) created the intellect (al-'Aql) He made it speak and said to it, ‘Come forward', so it came forward. He then said, 'Go back' and it went back. Then Allah said, 'I swear by My Honor and Glory that I have not created any creation more beloved to Me than you. I will not perfect you in anyone except those whom I love. I will command you [to obey me] and prohibit you [from disobeying me] and I will punish you [for disobeying me] and I will reward you [for obeying me].
