Al_Hadi in the Qu’ran is Imam Ali(as)
- وَ قَوْلُهُ وَ يَقُولُ اَلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْ لاٰ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ إِنَّمٰا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ فَإِنَّهُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ قَالَ : اَلْمُنْذِرُ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ اَلْهَادِي أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَ بَعْدَهُ اَلْأَئِمَّةُ عَلَيْهِمُ اَلسَّلاَمُ . و هو قوله« وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ » أي في كل زمان إمام هاد مبين، و هو رد على من ينكر أن في كل عصر و زمان إماما، و أنه لا تخلو الأرض من حجة1- كَمَا قَالَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ : «لاَ تَخْلُو اَلْأَرْضُ مِنْ إِمَامٍ قَائِمٍ بِحُجَّةِ اَللَّهِ، إِمَّا ظَاهِرٍ مَشْهُورٍ وَ إِمَّا خَائِفٍ مَقْهُورٍ، لِئَلاَّ يَبْطُلَ حُجَجُ اَللَّهِ وَ بَيِّنَاتُهُ.» و الهدى في كتاب الله عز و جل على وجوه، فمنه الأئمة عليهم السّلام و هو قوله« وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ » أي إمام مبين، و منه: البيان و هو قوله« أَ وَ لَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ » أي يبين لهم، و قوله« وَ أَمّٰا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنٰاهُمْ » أي بينا لهم و مثله كثير، و منه: الثواب و هو قوله« وَ اَلَّذِينَ جٰاهَدُوا فِينٰا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنٰا وَ إِنَّ اَللّٰهَ لَمَعَ اَلْمُحْسِنِينَ » أي لنثيبنهم، و منه: النجاة و هو قوله« كَلاّٰ إِنَّ مَعِي رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ » أي سينجيني، و منه الدلالة و هو قوله« وَ أَهْدِيَكَ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ » أي أدلك.
Regarding the verse “And those who disbelieve say: Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord? You are only a warner, and for every people there is a guide”(Sura Ra’d, verse 7), Imam Jafar(as) says:
“The warner (al-mundhir) is the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), and the guide (al-hādī) is the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), and after him the Imams (peace be upon them).” This is the meaning of His saying: “And for every people there is a guide”—that in every time there is a guiding, clarifying Imam. It is thus a refutation of those who deny that in every age and era there must be an Imam, and that the earth is never left without a divine proof (ḥujjah). As the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) said: “The earth is never devoid of an Imam who stands with the proof of God—either manifest and well-known, or fearful and subdued—so that the proofs of Allah and His clear signs may not perish.” Guidance (hudā) in the Book of God, Mighty and Exalted, appears in various forms. Among them are the Imams themselves, as in His saying “For every people there is a guide”, meaning a manifest Imam.”

اَلْحَاكِمُ أَبُو اَلْقَاسِمِ اَلْحَسْكَانِيُّ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ، إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ اَلْحَكَمِ بْنِ ظُهَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَرْزَةَ اَلْأَسْلَمِيِّ ، قَالَ: دَعَا رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ (صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ) بِالطَّهُورِ، وَ عِنْدَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ (عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ)، فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ (صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ) بِيَدِ عَلِيٍّ (عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ) بَعْدَ مَا تَطَهَّرَ فَأَلْصَقَهَا بِصَدْرِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّمٰا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ - وَ يَعْنِي نَفْسَهُ - ثُمَّ رَدَّهَا إِلَى صَدْرِ عَلِيٍّ (عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ) ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنَّكَ مَنَارُ اَلْأَنَامِ، وَ غَايَةُ اَلْهُدَى، وَ أَمِيرُ اَلْقُرَّاءِ، أَشْهَدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ أَنَّكَ كَذَلِكَ».
Abū Barzah al-Aslamī, said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) called for water for purification, and ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (peace be upon him) was with him. After the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) had performed his purification, he took the hand of ʿAlī (peace be upon him) and pressed it against his own chest, then said: “Indeed, you are only a warner”—referring to himself. Then he placed ʿAlī’s hand back upon the chest of ʿAlī (peace be upon him) and said: “And for every people there is a guide.” Then he added: “You are the beacon of all mankind, the ultimate point of guidance, and the leader of the reciters. I bear witness to that: you are truly so.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ رَحِمَهُ اَللَّهُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اَلْعَزِيزِ بْنُ يَحْيَى اَلْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اَلْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَلرَّحْمَنِ اَلْأَزْدِيُّ سَنَةَ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ وَ مِائَتَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ اَلرَّبِيعِ وَ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي اَلْأَسْوَدِ عَنِ اَلْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ اَلْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ : مَا نَزَلَتْ مِنَ اَلْقُرْآنِ آيَةٌ إِلاَّ وَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيْنَ نَزَلَتْ وَ فِيمَنْ نَزَلَتْ وَ فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ نَزَلَتْ وَ فِي سَهْلٍ نَزَلَتْ أَوْ فِي جَبَلٍ نَزَلَتْ قِيلَ فَمَا نَزَلَ فِيكَ فَقَالَ لَوْ لاَ أَنَّكُمْ سَأَلْتُمُونِي مَا أَخْبَرْتُكُمْ نَزَلَتْ فِيَّ اَلْآيَةُ « إِنَّمٰا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ وَ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هٰادٍ » فَرَسُولُ اَللَّهِ اَلْمُنْذِرُ وَ أَنَا اَلْهَادِي إِلَى مَا جَاءَ بِهِ.
Imam Alī (peace be upon him) said:
“No verse of the Qur’an was revealed except that I knew where it was revealed, about whom it was revealed, in what matter it was revealed, and whether it was revealed on a plain or on a mountain.”
He was asked: “Then what was revealed about you?”
He replied: “Were it not that you have asked me, I would not have told you. The verse which was revealed about me is: ‘Indeed, you are only a warner, and for every people there is a guide.’
The Messenger of Allah is the warner, and I am the guide to what he brought.”

Al_Hadi in the Quran is Imam Ali (as)
رُوِيَ عَنِ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ اَلْآيَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ أَنَا اَلْمُنْذِرُ وَ عَلِيٌّ اَلْهَادِي مِنْ بَعْدِي يَا عَلِيُّ بِكَ يَهْتَدِي اَلْمُهْتَدُونَ.
Ibn ʿAbbās said:
When the verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: “I am the warner, and ʿAlī is the guide after me. O ʿAlī, through you shall the guided ones find guidance.”
