مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ لا يَتَزَوَّجِ الْمُؤْمِنُ النَّاصِبَةَ الْمَعْرُوفَةَ بِذَلِكَ.
‘A believer must not marry one who is hostile to ‘A’immah, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, and his hostility is well known.’”

دَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي نَصْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ تَزَوَّجُوا فِي الشُّكَّاكِ وَلا تُزَوِّجُوهُمْ لأنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ تَأْخُذُ مِنْ أَدَبِ زَوْجِهَا وَيَقْهَرُهَا عَلَى دِينِهِ.
‘You can marry a skeptic but do not give in marriage to a skeptic because a woman follows the manners of her husband, and he compels her into his religion.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبَانِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَيَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ خَلَقَ حَوَّاءَ مِنْ آدَمَ فَهِمَّةُ النِّسَاءِ الرِّجَالُ فَحَصِّنُوهُنَّ فِي الْبُيُوتِ.
‘Allah created the creatures from Eve and Adam. The ambition of women is for men and their fortresses are the homes.’”

لِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَحْمِلُ أَعْظَمَ مَا يَحْمِلُ الرِّجَالُ فَهَلْ يَصْلُحُ لِي أَنْ آتِيَ بَعْضَ مَا لِي مِنَ الْبَهَائِمِ نَاقَةً أَوْ حِمَارَةً فَإِنَّ النِّسَاءَ لا يَقْوَيْنَ عَلَى مَا عِنْدِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَمْ يَخْلُقْكَ حَتَّى خَلَقَ لَكَ مَا يَحْتَمِلُكَ مِنْ شَكْلِكَ فَانْصَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ وَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ عَادَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ مِثْلَ مَقَالَتِهِ فِي أَوَّلِ مَرَّةٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ السَّوْدَاءِ العَنَطْنَطَةِ قَالَ فَانْصَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ عَادَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ حَقّاً إِنِّي طَلَبْتُ مَا أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ فَوَقَعْتُ عَلَى شَكْلِي مِمَّا يَحْتَمِلُنِي وَقَدْ أَقْنَعَنِي ذَلِكَ.
once a man came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, I carry the largest thing that man carry, if I can make use of the animals that I own, like a donkey or she-camel, because women cannot bear what I have.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Allah has not created your thing without creating what can match your kind.’ The man went and very shortly came back to the Messenger of Allah and repeated what he had said before. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘Why do you not find the black woman with a tall neck and healthy body?’ He went and very shortly came back and said, ‘I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah in all truth. I searched for what you commanded me to do and found her to be of my kind and match and I am satisfied.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَزَوَّجُوا الزُّرْقَ فَإِنَّ فِيهِنَّ الْيُمْنَ.
‘Marry blue colored eyes; it is a sign of good fortune.’

‘Once a man came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, requesting instruction for getting married. The Messenger of Allah said to him, ‘You must marry one who is religious beyond questions.’”

وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَطِيباً فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِيَّاكُمْ وَخَضْرَاءَ الدِّمَنِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا خَضْرَاءُ الدِّمَنِ قَالَ الْمَرْأَةُ الْحَسْنَاءُ فِي مَنْبِتِ السَّوْءِ.
‘O people, I warn you against Khadra’ al-Deman (a green plant that grows on the dump-site).’ It was asked, ‘What is Khadra’ al- Deman O Messenger of Allah?’ He (the Messenger of Allah) replied, ‘It is the good looking women who have grown in a wicked environment.’”

وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْكِحُوا الأكْفَاءَ وَانْكِحُوا فِيهِمْ وَاخْتَارُوا لِنُطَفِكُمْ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Get married but the party must be a proper match, so marry from them (proper matches) and choose (proper environment) for your seeds.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اخْتَارُوا لِنُطَفِكُمْ فَإِنَّ الْخَالَ أَحَدُ الضَّجِيعَيْنِ.
‘Choose for your seed (the best ground) thus, maternal uncle is one of the two bedfellows (close associates).”’

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْكَانَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا الْمَرْأَةُ قِلادَةٌ فَانْظُرْ إِلَى مَا تَقَلَّدُهُ قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَيْسَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ خَطَرٌ لا لِصَالِحَتِهِنَّ وَلا لِطَالِحَتِهِنَّ أَمَّا صَالِحَتُهُنَّ فَلَيْسَ خَطَرُهَا الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ بَلْ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَأَمَّا طَالِحَتُهُنَّ فَلَيْسَ التُّرَابُ خَطَرَهَا بَلِ التُّرَابُ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا.
‘A woman is a necklace, so consider what you are placing around your neck.’ I (the narrator) also heard him (the Imam) saying, ‘Women are priceless and it applies to both, virtuous and otherwise, among them. Gold and silver cannot become the price for a virtuous woman because she is better than gold and silver. The price of the wicked ones among women is not even worth a piece of dirt because dirt is better than them.”’

محمد بن يحيى، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن الحكم، عن صفوان بن مهران، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): تزوجوا وزوجوا ألا فمن حظ امرء مسلم إنفاق قيمة أيمة (2) وما من شئ أحب إلى الله عز وجل من بيت يعمر في الاسلام بالنكاح وما من شئ أبغض إلى الله عز وجل من بيت يخرب في الاسلام بالفرقة - يعني الطلاق - ثم قال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام): إن الله عز وجل إنما وكد في الطلاق وكرر فيه القول من بغضه الفرقة.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘It is of the share of good fortune of a Muslim that female members of his family find marriage early on and there is nothing more beloved to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, than a home that is established in Islam with marriage and there is nothing more hated to Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, than a home that is destroyed in Islam because of division, - divorce.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s), then said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has stressed on His hating divorce in repeated ways because of His extreme dislike of division.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ شَاذَانَ جَمِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَرْأَةَ لِجَمَالِهَا أَوْ مَالِهَا وُكِلَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا تَزَوَّجَهَا لِدِينِهَا رَزَقَهُ اللهُ الْجَمَالَ وَالْمَالَ.
‘If one marries a woman for the sake of her beauty or wealth he will be left alone with such things; but if one marries for the sake of her religion, Allah provides him beauty and wealth.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) يَقُولُ مَنْ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً يُرِيدُ مَالَهَا الْجَأَهُ اللهُ إِلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَالِ.
“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘If one marries a woman for the sake of her wealth, Allah makes that wealth his (only) refuge.’”

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِيِّ عَنِ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (a.s) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (a.s) أَفْضَلُ الشَّفَاعَاتِ أَنْ تَشْفَعَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ فِي نِكَاحٍ حَتَّى يَجْمَعَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُمَا.
The best intercession and mediation is that between two people until Allah unites them in marriage.’”
