حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن السناني وعلي بن أحمد بن محمد الدقاق والحسين ابن إبراهيم بن أحمد بن هشام المؤدب وعلي بن عبد الله الوراق رضي الله عنهم قالوا حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبد الله الكوفي الأسدي، عن موسى بن عمران النخعي عن عمه الحسين بن يزيد النوفلي عن علي بن سالم عن أبيه عن ثابت بن دينار قال سألت زين العابدين علي بن الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب " ع " عن الله جل جلاله هل يوصف بمكان فقال تعالى عن ذلك قلت فلما أسرى بنبيه محمد صلى الله عليه وآله إلى السماء قال ليريه ملكوت السماوات وما فيها من عجائب صنعه وبدايع خلقه قلت فقول الله عز وجل ثم دنى فتدلى فكان قاب قوسين أو أدنى قال ذاك رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله دنا من حجب النور فرأى ملكوت السماوات ثم تدلى صلى الله عليه وآله فنظر من تحته إلى ملكوت الأرض حتى ظن أنه في القرب من الأرض كقاب قوسين أو أدنى

According to this narration, Rasulullah (ﷺ) did not physically or directly meet Allah in a spatial or physical sense, as Allah is beyond place, time, and physical attributes. Imam Zayn al-Abidin (as) clarifies that the event of *Isra wal Mi'raj* was to show the Prophet (ﷺ) the dominion of the heavens and earth, the wonders of Allah's creation, and His signs. When the Quran says, "Then he drew near and came down, so he was at a distance of two bow lengths or closer"(Surah Najm: 8-9), the explanation provided here is that it refers to the Prophet (ﷺ) drawing near to the veils of light, witnessing the divine dominion, not meeting Allah in a physical sense. This aligns with the understanding in Islamic theology that Allah is not confined by space or location, and any "nearness" to Him is spiritual or metaphorical, not physical.
