Virtue of imam Ali(as)

---

قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): المخالف على علي بن أبي طالب بعدي كافر، والمشرك به مشرك، والمحب له مؤمن، والمبغض له منافق، والمقتفي لاثره لاحق، والمحارب له مارق، والراد عليه زاهق، علي نور الله في بلاده، وحجته على عباد، علي سيف الله على أعدائه، ووارث علم أنبيائه، علي كلمة الله العليا، وكلمة أعدائه السفلى، علي سيد الاوصياء، ووصي سيد الانبياء، علي أمير المؤمنين، وقائد الغر المحجلين، وإمام المسلمين، لا يقبل الله الايمان إلا بولايته وطاعته (2).

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever opposes `Ali b. Abi Talib after me is a disbeliever, and whoever associates partners with him is a polytheist. Whoever loves him is a believer, and whoever hates him is a hypocrite. Whoever pursues what he leaves behind is in pursuit [of Paradise], whoever is at war with him is a traitor, and whoever turns away from him is in falsehood. `Ali is the light of Allah in His cities, and His Proof over the worshipers. `Ali is the Sword of Allah upon His enemies, and the inheritor of the knowledge of His prophets. `Ali is the exalted word of Allah, and the words of his enemies are lowly. `Ali is the Master of the Deputies, and the Deputy of the Master of Prophets. `Ali is the Commander of the Faithful, the Leader of the shining believers, and the Imam of the Muslims. Allah does not accept faith except in his wilaya and his obedience.

- قال: أخبرني أبو جعفر محمد بن علي بن الحسين بن بابويه رحمه الله عن أبيه، عن محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن علي بن النعمان ، عن عامر بن معقل عن أبي حمزة الثمالي قال: قال أبو جعفر محمد بن علي الباقر عليهما السلام: يا أبا حمزة لا تضعوا عليا دون ما رفعه الله، ولا ترفعوا عليا فوق ما جعله الله، كفى عليا أن يقاتل أهل الكرة وأن يزوج أهل الجنة .

He said: Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn Al-Husayn ibn Babawayh, may Allah bless him with mercy, reported to me from his father who reported from Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Saffar, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from ‘Ali ibn al-Nu’man, from Amir ibn Ma’qal, from Abu Hamza al-Thumali, that Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said: "O Abu Hamza, do not place ‘Ali (a.s.) below the level to which Allah has raised him, and do not elevate him above the level where Allah has kept him. It is enough (excellence) for ‘Ali that he is the one who fought the apostates and he is the one who will pair off the inmates of Paradise."
