40 Hadith Al Qudsi (Words From Allah)
NARRATION 1
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَی عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : قَالَ اَللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَی يَا عِبَادِيَ اَلصِّدِّيقِينَ تَنَعَّمُوا بِعِبَادَتِي فِي اَلدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّكُمْ تَتَنَعَّمُونَ بِهَا فِي اَلْآخِرَةِ .
Imam Jafar(as) said:
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
“O My truthful servants!
Enjoy the delight of My worship in this world,
for surely you will enjoy its delight again in the Hereafter.”
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
“O My truthful servants!
Enjoy the delight of My worship in this world,
for surely you will enjoy its delight again in the Hereafter.”
NARRATION 2
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : أَوْحَی اَللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَی إِلَی بَعْضِ أَنْبِيَائِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ اَلسَّلاَمُ اَلْخُلُقُ اَلْحَسَنُ يَمِيثُ اَلْخَطِيئَةَ كَمَا تَمِيثُ اَلشَّمْسُ اَلْجَلِيدَ.
Imam As-Sadeq(as) said:
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed to one of His prophets (peace be upon them):
“Good character (akhlaq ḥasan) melts away sins just as the sun melts ice.”
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, revealed to one of His prophets (peace be upon them):

NARRATION 3
عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: إِنَّ آدَمَ شَكَا إِلَی رَبِّهِ حَدِيثَ اَلنَّفْسِ فَقَالَ أَكْثِرْ مِنْ قَوْلِ لاَ حَوْلَ وَ لاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ .
Imam Jafar(as) said:
Indeed, Adam (peace be upon him) complained to his Lord about the whispers and disturbances of the self (inner thoughts).
So Allah said to him: “Recite frequently — Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no power and no strength except through Allah).”

NARRATION 4
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اِبْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ : إِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ تَذَاكُرُ اَلْعِلْمِ بَيْنَ عِبَادِي مِمَّا تَحْيَا عَلَيْهِ اَلْقُلُوبُ اَلْمَيْتَةُ إِذَا هُمْ اِنْتَهَوْا فِيهِ إِلَى أَمْرِي .
Imam al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said:
“Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
When My servants discuss knowledge and conclude it according to My command, their hearts that were dead come back to life through it.”
“Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
When My servants discuss knowledge and conclude it according to My command, their hearts that were dead come back to life through it.”
NARRATION 5
مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ عَنْ أَبِي اَلْحَسَنِ اَلرِّضَا عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: أَحْسِنِ اَلظَّنَّ بِاللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِيَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِ بِي إِنْ خَيْراً فَخَيْراً وَ إِنْ شَرّاً فَشَرّاً .
Imam Reza(as) says:
“Think well of Allah, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
‘I am as My believing servant thinks of Me —
if he thinks good, then it will be good for him;
and if he thinks evil, then it will be evil for him.’”
“Think well of Allah, for Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
‘I am as My believing servant thinks of Me —
if he thinks good, then it will be good for him;
and if he thinks evil, then it will be evil for him.’”
NARRATION 6
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : قَالَ اَللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَا عِبَادِيَ اَلصِّدِّيقِينَ تَنَعَّمُوا بِعِبَادَتِي فِي اَلدُّنْيَا فَإِنَّكُمْ تَتَنَعَّمُونَ بِهَا فِي اَلْآخِرَةِ .
Imam Jafar(peace be upon him) said:

“O My truthful servants! Take delight in worshipping Me in this world,
for surely you will find delight in it again in the Hereafter.”
Allah, Blessed and Exalted, said:
“O My truthful servants! Take delight in worshipping Me in this world,
for surely you will find delight in it again in the Hereafter.”
NARRATION 7
وَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ قَالَ: فِيمَا نَاجَى اَللَّهُ بِهِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ يَا مُوسَى لاَ تَنْسَنِي عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ فَإِنَّ نِسْيَانِي يُمِيتُ اَلْقَلْبَ .
Imam Jafar(as) said:
Allah, in His confidential communication with Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him), said:
“O Mūsā! Do not forget Me in any situation,
for forgetting Me causes the heart to die.”
Allah, in His confidential communication with Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him), said:
“O Mūsā! Do not forget Me in any situation,
for forgetting Me causes the heart to die.”
NARRATION 8
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ اِبْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ: إِنَّ اَللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ مَنْ شُغِلَ بِذِكْرِي عَنْ مَسْأَلَتِي أَعْطَيْتُهُ أَفْضَلَ مَا أُعْطِي مَنْ سَأَلَنِي .
Imam al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) said:
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
“Whoever becomes occupied with remembering Me instead of asking from Me,
I will give him better than what I give to those who ask.”
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:
“Whoever becomes occupied with remembering Me instead of asking from Me,
I will give him better than what I give to those who ask.”
