Thiqah ul Islam Kulayni named the first chapter in Al-Kafi as Chapter of Aql and Jahl and then recorded 36 Hadiths, the first Hadith is :
١/١. أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا مِنْهمْ : مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْعَطَّارُ ، عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبوبِ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ رَزِينٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ : عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ: لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللهُ الْعَقْلَ اسْتَنْطَقَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ : أَقْبِلْ، فَأَقْبَلَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ : أَدْبِرْ ، فَأَدْبَرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : وَعِزَّتِي وَجَلَالِي مَا خَلَقْتُ خَلْقَا هُوَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَ مِنْكَ ، وَلَا أَكْمَلْتُكَ إِلَّا فِي مَنْ أُحِبّ ، أَمَا إِنِّي إِيَّاكَ أَمْرُ وَإِيَّاكَ أَنَهَى، وَإِيَّاكَ أُثِيبُ وَإِيَّاكَ أُعَاقِبُ .
1/1. Abu Ja‘far Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub informed us, saying: A group of our companions narrated to me, among them: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-‘Attar, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from al-‘Ala’ ibn Razīn, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, who reported from Abu Ja‘far (Imam al-Baqir), who said: When Allah created the intellect (‘aql), He made it speak, then said to it: "Come forward," so it came forward. Then He said to it: "Turn back," so it turned back. Then He said: "By My might and majesty, I have not created a creation more beloved to Me than you, and I have perfected you only in those whom I love. Indeed, it is you whom I command, and you whom I forbid, and through you I reward, and through you I punish."
