Ḥumayd ibn Ziyād narrated from al-Ḥasan ibn Muḥammad ibn Samāʿah, from more than one (narrator), from Abān, from Abū Baṣīr, from one of the two (Imams) (peace be upon them):
When Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family), passed away, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Join our righteous predecessors — ʿUthmān ibn Maẓʿūn and his companions."
He (the Imam) said: And Fāṭimah (peace be upon her) was at the edge of the grave, and her tears were falling into the grave, while the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) was standing, receiving them with his garment and supplicating.
He said: "Indeed, I know her weakness, and I asked Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, to protect her from the squeezing of the grave."
