محمد بن إدريس في آخر (السرائر) نقلا من كتاب هشام ابن سالم عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: إنما علينا أن نلقي إليكم الأصول، وعليكم أن تفرعوا.
ونقل من كتاب أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر، عن الرضا (عليه السلام) قال: علينا إلقاء الأصول وعليكم التفريع.
أقول: هذان الخبران تضمنا جواز التفريع على الأصول المسموعة منهم، والقواعد الكلية المأخوذة عنهم (عليهم السلام) لا على غيرها، وهذا موافق لما ذكرنا، مع أنه يحتمل الحمل على التقية وغير ذلك، وتقدم ما يدل على ذلك، ويأتي ما يدل عليه.
"Muhammad ibn Idris, at the end of Al-Sara'ir, quoting from the book of Hisham ibn Salim, from Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him), said: 'It is only upon us to convey to you the principles, and upon you is to derive the branches.'
And it was also narrated from the book of Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Al-Ridha (peace be upon him), who said: 'It is upon us to convey the principles, and upon you to derive the branches.'
I say: These two reports imply the permissibility of deriving branches from the principles heard from them (peace be upon them) and from the general rules taken from them, and not from other than them. This is consistent with what we have mentioned, although it is also possible that the reports were made under conditions of Taqaiyya or other reasons.
