Mukhtar

أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال:
ما امتشطت فينا هاشمية ولا اختضبت حتى بعث إلينا المختار برؤس الذين قتلوا الحسين عليه السلام.

Abu Abdullah (a) said:
“No woman from among the Hashimites combed her hair or dyed it until al-Mukhtar sent us the heads of those who killed al-Husayn (a)."

حدثني عمرو بن علي بن الحسين، أن علي بن الحسين عليه السلام لما أتي برأس عبيد الله بن زياد ورأس عمر بن سعد، قال: *فخر ساجدا وقال الحمد لله الذي أدرك لي ثأري من أعدائي، وجزى الله المختار خيرا.*

Amr ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to me that when Ali ibn al-Husayn (a) was brought the head of Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad and the head of Umar ibn Sa’d, he prostrated and said:
“Praise be to Allah who avenged me from my enemies, and may Allah reward al-Mukhtar with goodness.”
