Description
كلاب (الحواب ) Dogs of Hawab🐕‍🦺

Musanaf Ibn Abi Shaybah Vol 21. pg. 482: Hadith # 40574

During the events leading to the Battle of al-Jamāl, ʿĀʾishah bint Abī Bakr left Makkah heading toward Basra, accompanied by a group of companions.
When the caravan reached a place called al-Ḥawʾab, dogs began barking loudly.
ʿĀʾishah asked:
“What place is this?”
She was told:
“This is al-Ḥawʾab.”
On hearing this, she became disturbed and alarmed, and said words to the effect of:
“I think I should return.”
This was because she remembered a statement attributed to the Prophet (ﷺ) in which he warned that one of his wives would be barked at by the dogs of al-Ḥawʾab.
She then expressed hesitation and fear about continuing the journey.
However, some of those with her reassured her, and according to several reports, witnesses were brought who testified that the place was not al-Ḥawʾab, after which she continued the journey toward Basra.
