Hadith Scan
حدثنا أبو هاشم الرفاعي، عن عمه عن عبد الله بن عباس قال:
قال الشعبي: كان علي أشجع الناس تقر له العرب بذلك، قتل يوم بدر الوليد بن عتبة بن ربيعة بن عبد شمس، وأعان عبيدة بن الحارث بن عبد المطلب على شيبة بن ربيعة، ثم حمل على الكتيبة مصمما وحده وهو يقول:
لن يأكلوا العتر ببطن مكة … من بعدها حتى تكون الدكة
Abu Hashim al-Rifa'i narrated to us from his uncle, from Abdullah b. Abbas, who said: Al-Sha'bi said:
Ali was the bravest of people, and the Arabs acknowledge that. On the day of Badr, he killed Al-Walid b. Utba b. Rabi'a b. Abd Shams, and assisted Ubayda b. Al-Harith b. Abd al-Muttalib in fighting Shayba b. Rabi'a. Then he charged into the enemy ranks alone, saying:
"They will not consume the sacrifices (of their idols) in Mecca's center... until after there is a great clash."
