Description
We read in Musnad Ahmed Ibn Hanbal Vol.3 pg.409

1935 - Sufyan narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Abi Muslim, the uncle of Ibn Abi Nujayh, he heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr saying: Ibn Abbas said: "The day of Thursday, and what is the day of Thursday?" Then he cried until his tears soaked the pebbles. He said once, "His tears soaked the pebbles." We asked, "O Abu Abbas, what is the day of Thursday?" He said: "The pain of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) intensified, and he said, 'Bring me something so I may write for you a document after which you will never go astray.' They argued, and it is not appropriate to argue in the presence of a prophet. They said, 'What is his condition? Is he delirious?' Ask him.' So they went back to him and began repeating themselves, and he said, 'Leave me, for the condition I am in is better than what you are calling me to."

Footnote "The chain is Sahih per the conditions of Bukhari and Muslim"

add footnote: Sufyan (The Narrator) said حجر means: "Speaking nonsense."
