‌‌288 - ‌ابن ‌أبي ‌روح ‌أبو ‌الفضل ‌أسعد ‌بن ‌أحمد

Ibn Abi Ruh, Abu al-Fadl Asad ibn Ahmad

He was a man devoted to worship, night prayer, and silence. He debated a Maghribi (North African) scholar regarding the prohibition of fuqaa (a lightly fermented drink). He refuted him decisively.
The Maghribi Maliki then said: "Will you eat me?!"
He replied: "I am not upon your school," meaning: the permissibility of eating dogs
