Juwayni, also a scholar of the Shafi'i school of thought in Sunni Islam, writes about the birth of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as follows:
"It is reported that when the pains of childbirth intensified for her, Abu Talib brought her into the Ka'bah after sunset, and she gave birth to Ali there. It is said that no one else was born in the Ka'bah except Ali."
